A unique opportunity is available to any new students looking to enrol in Music and Creative Media courses at TAFE NSW Newcastle and Ourimbah campuses.
In 2020, new students are being given the opportunity to fast-track their training by opting for a higher level of training.
Normally, a student who has little or no training and experience, would be encouraged to start their training at Certificate II or III level, and then make their way up to Advanced Diploma
However, there are students who want to further their skills or get a qualification and also be recognised for what they've already done.
Some of these students may have been employed in the industry for a number of years, or been working as independent artists, such as musicians, performer, actors, writers, directors, etc.
As a result the skills and experience already gained are absolutely genuine and viable.
So, do you have the experience and skills to start your training at a higher level?
Here's how it works:
Let's say you believe that you have the skills and experience to go directly into a Diploma in Music Industry (Performance) but you haven't previously completed a music or creative media course.
This is your opportunity to Fast-track your Training.
In this particular instance, you would be required to provide the following evidence:
• prepare and perform 3 songs; one of which needs to be an original
• a summary of your live or studio performances over past 3 - 5 years; should include names of venues and studios, dates, and any personnel involved
• 2 references from either teachers, colleagues or industry personnel
Once you register to 'Fast-track your Training', we will give you a list of evidence required that aligns to your preferred training. REGISTER HERE
In the event that you do not have sufficient skills and experience to fast-track your training, we will offer you other options. No student will be turned away from training at some level.
See the course list.
Registrations close Friday 17 January 2020.
Auditions and interviews on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 January 2020
